#FAQemailLists “How valuable is an email address in my email list?”
Well for Experts, that depends on three key factors:
Firstly: it isn’t an email: it’s a person: when you loose sight of that fact (and don’t emphasis it above all other factors) – you loose your connection with the person – and the email address you think you have has almost no value – as any email you send is probably going to be viewed as SPAM (as defined by the #GUI_SPAMModel which says that SPAM is any content or messaging that is Generic, Unwanted and or Irrelevant and this is entirely in the view of the recipient.
Secondly: it depends on what you did to get the email address: did they really want it (your email content) or did you “pay” them to sign up? Ie “If you sign up for my newsletter I will give you this “tool” which will help you to change your X” → why not try giving them the tool for free and then separately invite them to reach out to you on this phone number or email address if they would like any help with implementing the tool? (Now track the value of the conversations you have …. rather than the possible value of the email addresses you would otherwise extracted?)
Three: it depends on how much value you share in your next email(s) to that person (not that email address):
Consider this (and here I am assuming you are the expert you say you are) so why not offer that person your #ExpertLetter rather than just your Newsletter: now see (and track) how much attention you get from your specific audience when you share you unique expertise to help them improve specific aspects of their life or business, one step at a time on their journey to their desired destination 😀
(PS for $200 you can get 5,000 followers on your Instagram page: are you tempted? I hope not:
